看哪，你的兵眾在你中間簡直是婦人女子；你國土的門戶都向仇敵敞開着；你的門閂、火燒燬了。

錫安的門都陷入地裏；主將她的門閂毁壞折斷；她的王和首領在列國中，沒有禮節的指教；她的神言人也沒有得着永恆主的異象。

讓刀劍攻擊胡謅的豫言者，使他們愚昧無能！讓刀劍攻擊她的勇士，使他們驚慌失措！讓刀劍攻擊她的馬匹和車輛，攻擊其中的雜族眾人，使他們變像婦人女子！讓刀劍攻擊她的寶物，使它們都被劫掠！

故此人的手都必發軟，人都必膽戰心驚；他們都要驚惶失措。疼痛和劇疼必將他們抓住；他們必翻騰絞痛、像生產的婦人一樣；他們相顧駭愕，臉上都顯着劇疼的氣色。

心膽剛勇的人都被掠奪；他們睡了長覺，大有威力的人都不能有所措手。

當那日子、埃及人必像婦人一樣；他們必因萬軍之永恆主的掄手、就是他在埃及身上所掄的、來發顫懼怕。

我永恆主所膏立的古列，我拉他的右手，使列國降服在他面前；列王的腰帶我必鬆開；我必使門戶在他面前敞開，使一切大門不得關閉：我永恆主對古列這麼說；『我必親自領導你，使道路平直；銅門我必打破，鐵閂我必砍斷；

我必折斷大馬色的門閂，剪除亞文平原的居民，和伯伊甸執有權柄之杖的人；亞蘭人民必流亡到吉珥』：這是永恆主說的。

因為他使你的門閂堅固，他給你中間的兒女祝福。

渡口已被佔據了；防禦設備給火燒了；軍兵都驚惶失措。

加畧被攻取，營寨被佔據；當那日子摩押勇士的心必疼痛，如臨產婦人的心一樣。

因為他打破了銅門，砍斷了鐵閂。

因怕她的苦痛、都必在遠處站着說：『有禍啊！有禍啊！大城巴比倫！大有勢力的城啊，一時之間你受判罰的時候到了！』

以下是王發神諭說的，萬軍之永恆主耶和華是他的名：我必使巴比倫的首領和智慧人、巡撫和省長、以及她的勇士、都沉醉，都睡長覺，永不醒起。
