“我的子民啊，我做了什么对不起你们的事？我哪里令你们厌烦？回答我！

我们悖逆，否认耶和华，离弃我们的上帝，说欺压、叛逆的话，吐露心中编织的谎言。正义被赶逐，公义不能靠近，真理倒在街上，正直被拒之门外。真理无处可寻，远离恶事的人反成了猎物。耶和华因正义荡然无存而不悦。

虽然遥远的路途使你们疲倦，你们却从不放弃。你们找到了新的力量，所以没有晕倒。

这些学说是出自假冒伪善的骗子，他们良心丧尽，麻木不仁，

他们舌头锋利如刀，言语恶毒如箭穿心。

铁匠把铁块放在炭火里烧，用他强壮的臂膀挥动铁锤把它打成偶像。他饥饿时就会无力，口渴时就会疲乏。木匠拉线测量木料，用笔勾出形状，用圆规画出模样，仿照人的样子用凿子做成逼真的神像，放在庙宇里。他砍伐香柏木，或从林中选取柏木和橡木。他栽种松树，雨水使它长大。

却徒劳无功，因为锈垢太厚，就是用火也不能清除。

耶和华说：“他们鼓舌如簧，射出谎言，遍地充满诡诈，毫无诚实；他们行恶不断，不认我是上帝。

彼此帮助，互相勉励说，‘要刚强！’工匠鼓励银匠，打磨的勉励打砧的，说，‘打得好！’他们用钉子把偶像钉牢，免得摇晃。

你满口恶言，谎话连篇，

因为他们不作恶就无法入睡，不绊倒人就无法安眠；

他们的言语恶毒如蛇，嘴唇有蛇的毒液。（细拉）

你喋喋不休，人们岂能缄默不言？你嘲笑讥讽，岂不该有人使你羞愧？

所以不要再说谎，大家都要彼此说真话，因为我们都是一个身体的肢体。

恶人心怀恶念，居心叵测，滋生虚谎。

列邦的财富都化为灰烬，列国劳碌却是一场空。这不都是出于万军之耶和华吗？

那些用虚假作绳子扯来罪恶，用套绳拉来邪恶的人有祸了！

他们舌如毒箭，说话诡诈，对邻居口蜜腹剑。
