这邪恶的百姓拒绝听我的话，一意孤行，跟随、供奉、祭拜别的神明，他们将像这腰带一样毫无用处。

他们对上帝说，‘离开我们，我们不想学习你的道。全能者是谁，竟要我们事奉祂？向祂祷告有何益处？’

为什么耶路撒冷的居民一味地背叛我？他们诡诈成性，不肯回头。

既然他们故意不认识上帝，上帝就任凭他们心思败坏，做不当做的事。

你们该醒悟了！不要继续犯罪，因为你们当中有些人不认识上帝。我说这话是要叫你们羞愧。

他们的家里充满了诡诈，就像笼子装满了鸟。他们变得有财有势，

我的子民因不认识我而遭毁灭。因为你们拒绝认识我，我也要拒绝让你们做我的祭司；因为你们忘记我的律法，我也要忘记你们的儿女。

我听见许多人窃窃私语：“看那个说‘四面有恐怖’的人，我们告发他！告发他！”我的好友都盼着我灭亡，说：“或许他会受骗，那样我们便能打倒他，一泄心头之恨。”

他们说：“来！我们设计对付耶利米吧，反正我们有祭司教导律法，有智者出谋划策，有先知传讲预言。来吧！我们抨击他，不要理会他的话。”

耶和华啊，求你救我远离虚谎诡诈之徒。诡诈之徒啊！你会受到怎样的惩罚呢？你会有什么下场呢？等待你的是勇士的利箭和炙热的炭火。我寄居在米设和基达的人当中有祸了！我住在憎恶和平的人当中太久了。
