Friend deceives friend, and no one speaks the truth. They have taught their tongues to lie; they weary themselves with sinning.

One friend cheats another. No one tells the truth. They have taught their tongues how to lie. They wear themselves out sinning.

就是悖逆，否認耶和華，轉去不跟從我們的上帝，口說欺壓和叛逆的話，心懷謊言，隨即說出；公平轉而退後，公義站在遠處，誠實仆倒在廣場上，正直不得進入；誠實少見，離棄邪惡的人反成掠物。那時，耶和華見沒有公平，就不喜悅。

因路途遙遠，你就疲倦，卻不說，這是枉然，以為能找到復興之力，所以不覺疲憊。

這是出於撒謊者的假冒；這些人的良心如同被熱鐵烙了一般。

他們磨舌如刀，發出苦毒的言語，好像瞄準了的箭，

鐵匠用工具在火炭上工作，用鎚打出形狀，用他有力的膀臂來錘。他因飢餓而無力氣；因未喝水而疲倦。木匠拉線，用筆劃出樣子，用鉋子鉋成形狀，又用圓規劃了模樣。他仿照人的體態，做出美妙的人形，放在廟裏。他砍伐香柏樹，又取杉樹和橡樹，在樹林中讓它茁壯；或栽種松樹，得雨水滋潤長大。

然而這一切勞碌無效，它厚厚的銹，即使用火也除不掉。

他們彎起舌頭像弓，為要說謊話；他們在國中增長勢力，不是為誠信。他們惡上加惡，並不認識我。這是耶和華說的。

各人互相幫助，對弟兄說：「壯膽吧！」木匠鼓勵銀匠，用鎚子打光的鼓勵打砧的，對銲工說：「銲得好！」又用釘子釘穩，免得它倒下。

「你的口出惡言，你的舌編造詭詐。

他們若不行惡，難以成眠，不使人跌倒，就睡臥不安；

他們的舌頭銳利如蛇，嘴唇裏有毒蛇的毒液。（細拉）

你誇大的話豈能使人不作聲嗎？你戲笑的時候豈沒有人使你受辱嗎？

所以，你們要棄絕謊言，每個人要與鄰舍說誠實話，因為我們是互為肢體。

看哪，惡人懷邪惡，養毒害，生虛假。

看哪，這不都是出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？萬民勞碌得來的被火焚燒，萬族辛苦建造的，歸於虛空。

禍哉！那些以虛假的繩子牽引罪孽，以套車的繩索緊拉罪惡的人。

他們的舌頭是毒箭，說話詭詐，跟鄰舍口說平安，心卻謀害他。
