Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.

How terrible for you when everyone says good things about you! Their people treated the false prophets the same way long ago.

What sorrow awaits you who are praised by the crowds, for their ancestors also praised false prophets.

You adulterers and adulteresses, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

“ Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.

The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule by their own authority; and my people love to have it so. What will you do in the end of it?

who tell the seers,“ Don’t see!” and the prophets,“ Don’t prophesy to us right things. Tell us pleasant things. Prophesy deceits.

If a man walking in a spirit of falsehood lies:“ I will prophesy to you of wine and of strong drink;” he would be the prophet of this people.

Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth, and destroy by the manifestation of his coming;even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn’t receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.Because of this, God sends them a working of error, that they should believe a lie;that they all might be judged who didn’t believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

For, uttering great swelling words of emptiness, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by licentiousness, those who are indeed escaping from those who live in error;promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for a man is brought into bondage by whoever overcomes him.

But false prophets also arose among the people, as false teachers will also be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction.Many will follow their immoral ways, and as a result, the way of the truth will be maligned.In covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words: whose sentence now from of old doesn’t linger, and their destruction will not slumber.

One of his heads looked like it had been wounded fatally. His fatal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled at the beast.They worshiped the dragon, because he gave his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying,“ Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”

They are of the world. Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God doesn’t listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said,“ Which way did Yahweh’s Spirit go from me to speak to you?”Micaiah said,“ Behold, you will see on that day, when you go into an inner room to hide yourself.”The king of Israel said,“ Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son.Say,‘ The king says,“ Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.”’”Micaiah said,“ If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me.” He said,“ Listen, all you people!”

For those who are such don’t serve our Lord, Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by their smooth and flattering speech, they deceive the hearts of the innocent.

The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying,“ See now, the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Please let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak good.”Micaiah said,“ As Yahweh lives, what Yahweh says to me, that I will speak.”

Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them,“ Should I go against Ramoth Gilead to battle, or should I refrain?” They said,“ Go up; for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king.”But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there here a prophet of Yahweh, that we may inquire of him?”The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat,“ There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh, Micaiah the son of Imlah; but I hate him, for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.” Jehoshaphat said,“ Don’t let the king say so.”

The world can’t hate you, but it hates me, because I testify about it, that its works are evil.
