“ For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, because he is the messenger of the Lord Almighty and people seek instruction from his mouth.

The Lord’s slave must not quarrel, but must be gentle to everyone, able to teach, and patient,instructing his opponents with gentleness. Perhaps God will grant them repentance leading them to the knowledge of the truth.

Therefore, the person who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who also gives you His Holy Spirit.

Haggai, the Lord’s messenger, delivered the Lord’s message to the people,“ I am with you”— this is the Lord’s declaration.

Then the priests, the sons of Levi, will come forward, for Yahweh your God has chosen them to serve Him and pronounce blessings in His name, and they are to give a ruling in every dispute and case of assault.

“ If a case is too difficult for you— concerning bloodshed, lawsuits, or assaults— cases disputed at your gates, you must go up to the place the Lord your God chooses.You are to go to the Levitical priests and to the judge who presides at that time. Ask, and they will give you a verdict in the case.You must abide by the verdict they give you at the place the Lord chooses. Be careful to do exactly as they instruct you.You must abide by the instruction they give you and the verdict they announce to you. Do not turn to the right or the left from the decision they declare to you.

“ This is what the Lord of Hosts says: Ask the priests for a ruling.If a man is carrying consecrated meat in the fold of his garment, and it touches bread, stew, wine, oil, or any other food, does it become holy?” The priests answered,“ No.”Then Haggai asked,“ If someone defiled by contact with a corpse touches any of these, does it become defiled?” The priests answered,“ It becomes defiled.”

I assure you: Whoever receives anyone I send receives Me, and the one who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.”

Now Ezra had determined in his heart to study the law of the Lord, obey it, and teach its statutes and ordinances in Israel.

You did not despise or reject me though my physical condition was a trial for you. On the contrary, you received me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus Himself.

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, certain that God is appealing through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf,“ Be reconciled to God.”

As she followed Paul and us she cried out,“ These men, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation, are the slaves of the Most High God.”

On the first day of the seventh month, Ezra the priest brought the law before the assembly of men, women, and all who could listen with understanding.While he was facing the square in front of the Water Gate, he read out of it from daybreak until noon before the men, the women, and those who could understand. All the people listened attentively to the book of the law.Ezra the scribe stood on a high wooden platform made for this purpose. Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah stood beside him on his right; to his left were Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hash-baddanah, Zechariah, and Meshullam.Ezra opened the book in full view of all the people, since he was elevated above everyone. As he opened it, all the people stood up.Ezra praised the Lord, the great God, and with their hands uplifted all the people said,“ Amen, Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, and Pelaiah, who were Levites, explained the law to the people as they stood in their places.They read out of the book of the law of God, translating and giving the meaning so that the people could understand what was read.

Who is blind but My servant, or deaf like My messenger I am sending? Who is blind like My dedicated one, or blind like the servant of the Lord?

The Levites with them were Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah; the priests, Elishama and Jehoram, were with these Levites.They taught throughout Judah, having the book of the Lord’s instruction with them. They went throughout the towns of Judah and taught the people.

who confirms the message of His servant and fulfills the counsel of His messengers; who says to Jerusalem,“ She will be inhabited,” and to the cities of Judah,“ They will be rebuilt,” and I will restore her ruins;

Then Hezekiah encouraged all the Levites who performed skillfully before the Lord. They ate at the appointed festival for seven days, sacrificing fellowship offerings and giving thanks to Yahweh, the God of their ancestors.

“ See, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. Then the Lord you seek will suddenly come to His temple, the Messenger of the covenant you desire— see, He is coming,” says the Lord of Hosts.

“ Be careful in a case of infectious skin disease, following carefully everything the Levitical priests instruct you to do. Be careful to do as I have commanded them.

Therefore, this is what the Lord says: If you return, I will restore you; you will stand in My presence. And if you speak noble words, rather than worthless ones, you will be My spokesman. It is they who must return to you; you must not return to them.

He will stand before Eleazar who will consult the Lord for him with the decision of the Urim. He and all the Israelites with him, even the entire community, will go out and come back in at his command.”
