Then he said,“ I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Then Jesus called for the children and said to the disciples,“ Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children.I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”

Dear brothers and sisters, don’t be childish in your understanding of these things. Be innocent as babies when it comes to evil, but be mature in understanding matters of this kind.

So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech.Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment,

Eight days after Isaac was born, Abraham circumcised him as God had commanded.

At that time Jesus prayed this prayer:“ O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike.

When the child was weaned, Hannah took him to the Tabernacle in Shiloh. They brought along a three year old bull for the sacrifice and a basket of flour and some wine.

And she made this vow:“ O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut.”

“ I will confirm my covenant with you and your descendants after you, from generation to generation. This is the everlasting covenant: I will always be your God and the God of your descendants after you.And I will give the entire land of Canaan, where you now live as a foreigner, to you and your descendants. It will be their possession forever, and I will be their God.”

But Hannah did not go. She told her husband,“ Wait until the boy is weaned. Then I will take him to the Tabernacle and leave him there with the Lord permanently.”

But he told me,‘ You will become pregnant and give birth to a son. You must not drink wine or any other alcoholic drink nor eat any forbidden food. For your son will be dedicated to God as a Nazirite from the moment of his birth until the day of his death.’”

When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them,“ Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children.

But Samuel, though he was only a boy, served the Lord. He wore a linen garment like that of a priest.

Abraham was ninety nine years old when he was circumcised,and Ishmael, his son, was thirteen.Both Abraham and his son, Ishmael, were circumcised on that same day,
