慈伯德子雅谷伯若望謂耶穌曰：『夫子請允我所求。』

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”

James and John came to Jesus. They were the sons of Zebedee.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we would like to ask you for a favor.”

And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came up to him and said to him,“ Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.”

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came over and spoke to him.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we want you to do us a favor.”

James and John, the sons of Zebedee, approached him and said,“ Teacher, we want you to do whatever we ask you.”

James and John, the two sons of Zebedee,* came up to Jesus, saying to Him,“ Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask of You.”

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Him, saying,“ Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask.”

And there come near unto him James and John, the sons of Zebedee, saying unto him, Teacher, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall ask of thee.

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, approached Him and said,“ Teacher, we want You to do something for us if we ask You.”

And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him and said,“ Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”

Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, kneeling and asking a certain thing of him.He said to her,“ What do you want?” She said to him,“ Command that these, my two sons, may sit, one on your right hand, and one on your left hand, in your Kingdom.”But Jesus answered,“ You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to him,“ We are able.”He said to them,“ You will indeed drink my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with, but to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it is for whom it has been prepared by my Father.”When the ten heard it, they were indignant with the two brothers.But Jesus summoned them, and said,“ You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.It shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant,even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Then she said,“ I ask one small petition of you; don’t deny me.” The king said to her,“ Ask on, my mother; for I will not deny you.”

Now I ask one petition of you. Don’t deny me.” She said to him,“ Say on.”

Going on a little further from there, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.Immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.

He took with him Peter, James, and John, and began to be greatly troubled and distressed.

He allowed no one to follow him, except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.

When the woman of Tekoa spoke to the king, she fell on her face to the ground, showed respect, and said,“ Help, O king!”The king said to her,“ What ails you?” She answered,“ Truly I am a widow, and my husband is dead.Your servant had two sons, and they both fought together in the field, and there was no one to part them, but the one struck the other, and killed him.Behold, the whole family has risen against your servant, and they say,‘ Deliver him who struck his brother, that we may kill him for the life of his brother whom he killed, and so destroy the heir also.’ Thus they would quench my coal which is left, and would leave to my husband neither name nor remainder on the surface of the earth.”The king said to the woman,“ Go to your house, and I will give a command concerning you.”The woman of Tekoa said to the king,“ My lord, O king, may the iniquity be on me, and on my father’s house; and may the king and his throne be guiltless.”The king said,“ Whoever says anything to you, bring him to me, and he will not bother you any more.”Then she said,“ Please let the king remember Yahweh your God, that the avenger of blood destroy not any more, lest they destroy my son.” He said,“ As Yahweh lives, not one hair of your son shall fall to the earth.”

After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them.
