眾責之、使緘默、彼愈呼曰、大衛之裔、矜恤我、

眾斥之、使緘默、彼愈呼曰、大衛之裔、矜憐我、

人多斥之、令勿喧。而彼更抗喉疾呼曰：『大維子、祈垂憐焉。』

Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Many people commanded him to stop. They told him to be quiet. But he shouted even louder,“ Son of David! Have mercy on me!”

And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

“ Be quiet!” many of the people yelled at him. But he only shouted louder,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Many warned him to keep quiet, but he was crying out all the more,“ Have mercy on me, Son of David!”

Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

And many rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

Many people told him to keep quiet, but he was crying out all the more,“ Have mercy on me, Son of David!”

And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal,[ Thou] Son of David, have mercy on me.

Many scolded him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Then little children were brought to him, that he should lay his hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them.

The multitude rebuked them, telling them that they should be quiet, but they cried out even more,“ Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!”

While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler’s house saying,“ Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any more?”

Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter.But Jesus said to her,“ Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”But she answered him,“ Yes, Lord. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”He said to her,“ For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”

He said to them,“ Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight, and tell him,‘ Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,’and he from within will answer and say,‘ Don’t bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give it to you’?I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs.“ I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.

He, in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,

But he answered her not a word. His disciples came and begged him, saying,“ Send her away; for she cries after us.”But he answered,“ I wasn’t sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”But she came and worshiped him, saying,“ Lord, help me.”But he answered,“ It is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”But she said,“ Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”Then Jesus answered her,“ Woman, great is your faith! Be it done to you even as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.

He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up,saying,“ There was a judge in a certain city who didn’t fear God, and didn’t respect man.A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying,‘ Defend me from my adversary!’He wouldn’t for a while, but afterward he said to himself,‘ Though I neither fear God, nor respect man,yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.’”The Lord said,“ Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.Won’t God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints:

Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness, for you reward every man according to his work.

You shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.

Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more,“ You son of David, have mercy on me!”

Jacob was left alone, and wrestled with a man there until the breaking of the day.When he saw that he didn’t prevail against him, the man touched the hollow of his thigh, and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was strained as he wrestled.The man said,“ Let me go, for the day breaks.” Jacob said,“ I won’t let you go unless you bless me.”He said to him,“ What is your name?” He said,“ Jacob”.He said,“ Your name will no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have fought with God and with men, and have prevailed.”
