雖有軍兵紮營來攻擊我，我的心也不害怕；雖有戰事生起、來擊打我，我仍覺得安然。

突然而來的恐怖、你不懼怕；惡人的毁滅臨到了、你也不驚慌；

我的肺腑啊，我的肺腑啊，我翻騰難過；我心房的牆直跳動着；我的心向我自己在悲歎哀鳴；我不能緘默不作聲；因為我聽見了號角聲，戰爭的吶喊。破毁接着破毁；因為全國盡都毁壞；我的帳棚忽然毁壞，我的幔子一眨眼間就破裂。我看旌旗、要到幾時呢？我聽號角聲、要到多久呢？

『凡這人民所叫做陰謀的、你們不要都叫做陰謀；他們所怕的、你們可別怕，可別畏懼。

壞消息他也不懼怕；他的心堅定，倚靠着永恆主。

你們不要心驚膽怯，不要因境內所聽到的風聲而懼怕；因為這年有風聲傳來，那年也有風聲傳到；境內且有強暴的事，政權攻擊政權。

上帝是我們的避難所、我們的力量、我們患難中的幫助、隨時隨地可得到的。所以地雖起了改變，我們也不怕；山雖搖動到海心，我們也不驚；海雖匉訇，而海水翻騰，山雖因海漲而震戰，我們也不慌。（細拉）

『你們心裏別震盪不安了，你們要信上帝，也要信我。

我們都是必死的，就如同水潑在地上，不能收拾起來一樣；但人若想法子使被放逐的人不永遠被放逐而離開他，上帝是不奪取他性命的。
