永恆主告訴摩西說：『你要按以色列人有資格被點閱的登記人數；你給他們點閱的時候、他們各人要為自己的性命將贖價奉給永恆主，免得你給他們點閱的時候、他們中間有疫病。以下這一點錢是他們所要給的：凡按次序走過去而屬於那些有資格被點閱的人、每人要按聖所的平獻銀子半舍客勒；這半舍客勒是奉給永恆主的提獻物：一舍客勒是二十季拉。凡按次序走過去而屬於那些有資格被點閱的人、從二十歲和以上的、要將這提獻物奉給永恆主。要為你們的性命將提獻物奉給永恆主做贖價，富足的不必多出，貧窮的也不可少於半舍客勒。你要從以色列人拿這贖價銀子為自己做贖價，支配它給會棚使用，好使以色列人在永恆主面前被提醒。』

要用你的財物敬奉永恆主，用你一切初熟的出產敬奉上帝；

因為願作的熱心若擺在前頭，蒙悅納是照所有的，不是照所無的。

我所立為聖柱的這根石頭就必做上帝的殿；凡你所賜給我的、我必將十分之一獻與你。』
