你們的兒女要在曠野飄泊四十年，為你們的不忠而受苦，直到你們都死在曠野。你們打探了那地方四十天，你們要為自己的罪受苦四十年，一年頂一天。那時，你們就知道與我為敵的後果。』

他們在曠野漂泊的那四十年間，上帝一直照顧、容忍他們。

要記住這四十年來你們的上帝耶和華怎樣在曠野引領你們，祂磨煉你們、考驗你們，好知道你們的心意如何、肯不肯遵守祂的誡命。

以色列家啊，在曠野的四十年間，你們向我獻過祭物和供品嗎？
