Forty long years I was grieved with that generation, and said,“ It is a people that errs in their heart. They have not known my ways.”

四十年之久，我厌烦那世代，说：“这是心里迷糊的百姓，竟不晓得我的作为！”

四十年之久，我厌烦那世代，说：“这是心里迷糊的百姓，竟不知道我的道路！”

四十年之久，我厌烦那世代，说：“这是心里迷糊的百姓，竟不知道我的道路！”

所以，我憎恶他们四十年之久，我说，‘他们偏离正路，不遵行我的命令。’

四十年之久，我厌恶那个世代的人；我曾说：“他们是心里迷误的人民，不认识我的道路。”

四十年之久，我厌恶了那世代，我说：‘他们是心里迷失的子民，他们不认识我的道路。’

四十年之久，我厭煩那世代，說：這是心裏迷糊的百姓，竟不曉得我的作為！

四十年之久，我厭煩那世代，說：「這是心裏迷糊的百姓，竟不知道我的道路！」

四十年之久，我厭煩那世代，說：「這是心裏迷糊的百姓，竟不知道我的道路！」

所以，我憎惡他們四十年之久，我說，『他們偏離正路，不遵行我的命令。』

四十年之久，我厭惡那個世代的人；我曾說：“他們是心裡迷誤的人民，不認識我的道路。”

四十年之久我討厭那世代，說：『這是心裏迷糊的人民，不曉得我所行的；』

四十年之久，我厭惡了那世代，我說：『他們是心裡迷失的子民，他們不認識我的道路。』

歷年四十、我厭此代曰、斯民心迷、未識我途兮、

歷四十載、我憾當時之人曰、厥心常迷、不識余途兮。

彼世代四十年間、激我厭惡、我曰、彼乃心中偏邪之民、不明我道、

心厭彼逆。垂四十春。中心懷邪。天理不明。

For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said,‘ They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways.’

For 40 years I was angry with them. I said,‘ Their hearts are always going astray. They do not know how I want them to live.’

For forty years I loathed that generation and said,“ They are a people who go astray in their heart, and they have not known my ways.”

For forty years I was angry with them, and I said,‘ They are a people whose hearts turn away from me. They refuse to do what I tell them.’

For forty years I was disgusted with that generation; I said,“ They are a people whose hearts go astray; they do not know my ways.”

For forty years I was disgusted with that generation, And said they are a people who err in their heart, And they do not know My ways.

For forty years I was grieved with that generation, And said,‘ It is a people who go astray in their hearts, And they do not know My ways.’

Forty years long was I grieved with that generation, And said, It is a people that do err in their heart, And they have not known my ways:

For 40 years I was disgusted with that generation; I said,“ They are a people whose hearts go astray; they do not know My ways.”

Forty years long was I grieved with[ this] generation, and said, It[ is] a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:

For forty years I was continually disgusted with that generation, and I said,‘ These people desire to go astray; they do not obey my commands.’

With whom was he displeased forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

This man led them out, having worked wonders and signs in Egypt, in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.

“ How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you.Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention;but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof;I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you,when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you.Then they will call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me;because they hated knowledge, and didn’t choose the fear of Yahweh.

This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed.But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”

where your fathers tested me and tried me, and saw my deeds for forty years.Therefore I was displeased with that generation, and said,‘ They always err in their heart, but they didn’t know my ways.’

Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

Your habitation is in the middle of deceit. Through deceit, they refuse to know me,” says Yahweh.

Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel, and he made them wander back and forth in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation who had done evil in Yahweh’s sight was consumed.

In the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, Moses spoke to the children of Israel according to all that Yahweh had given him in commandment to them,

Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

The days in which we came from Kadesh Barnea until we had come over the brook Zered were thirty- eight years: until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the middle of the camp, as Yahweh swore to them.Moreover Yahweh’s hand was against them, to destroy them from the middle of the camp, until they were consumed.So, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people,

O Yahweh, why do you make us wander from your ways, and harden our heart from your fear? Return for your servants’ sake, the tribes of your inheritance.

Yahweh was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart.

For a period of about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness.

Your children shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your prostitution, until your dead bodies are consumed in the wilderness.After the number of the days in which you spied out the land, even forty days, for every day a year, you will bear your iniquities, even forty years, and you will know my alienation.’

The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge; but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.
