He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Indeed, everything is for your benefit so that, as grace extends through more and more people, it may cause thanksgiving to increase to the glory of God.Therefore we do not give up. Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day.For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

because I know this will lead to my salvation through your prayers and help from the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment.

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

For they disciplined us for a short time based on what seemed good to them, but he does it for our benefit, so that we can share his holiness.No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

I will most gladly spend and be spent for you. If I love you more, am I to be loved less?

So let no one boast in human leaders, for everything is yours—whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come— everything is yours,and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.

So, then, I ask you not to be discouraged over my afflictions on your behalf, for they are your glory.

And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance,endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
