Of the Rock who became your father, you are unmindful, and have forgotten God who gave you birth.

For the waves of death surrounded me. The floods of ungodliness made me afraid.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.Therefore since all these things will be destroyed like this, what kind of people ought you to be in holy living and godliness,looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, which will cause the burning heavens to be dissolved, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.Therefore, beloved, seeing that you look for these things, be diligent to be found in peace, without defect and blameless in his sight.

But Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked. You have grown fat. You have grown thick. You have become sleek. Then he abandoned God who made him, and rejected the Rock of his salvation.

But with an overflowing flood, he will make a full end of her place, and will pursue his enemies into darkness.

and he said:“ Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine;

Now, little children, remain in him, that when he appears, we may have boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

However God’s firm foundation stands, having this seal,“ The Lord knows those who are his,” and,“ Let every one who names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.”

I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”

Oh come, let’s sing to Yahweh. Let’s shout aloud to the rock of our salvation!

For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves concede.

So they will fear Yahweh’s name from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come as a rushing stream, which Yahweh’s breath drives.

Yahweh lives! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be God, the rock of my salvation,

When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more; but the righteous stand firm forever.

Therefore, brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.

Those who trust in Yahweh are as Mount Zion, which can’t be moved, but remains forever.As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so Yahweh surrounds his people from this time forward and forever more.

For this, let everyone who is godly pray to you in a time when you may be found. Surely when the great waters overflow, they shall not reach to him.

“ Death, where is your sting? Hades, where is your victory?”The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas;though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling. Selah.

The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works.Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.
