若不是主截短了那些日子，凡是血肉之人就沒有一個能得救。但為了他所揀選的選民，他已截短了那些日子了。

若不是主减少那日子，凡有血气的，总没有一个得救的；只是为主的选民，他将那日子减少了。

主若不減其時日、則血氣之倫、將無遺孑！惟為選民之故、主必減之耳。

“ If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.

In fact, unless the Lord shortens that time of calamity, not a single person will survive. But for the sake of his chosen ones he has shortened those days.

永恆主這麼說：『人怎樣從葡萄嘟嚕中取得新酒，而說：「不要毁它，因為有讓人蒙祝福的因素在那裏面」，我因我僕人的緣故也必照樣而行，不將他們全都毁滅。我必從雅各中領出後裔來，從猶大中領出那要擁有我的眾山的；我的選民必擁有她以為業，我的僕人必在那裏居住。

若不是那些日子被截短了，凡是血肉之人就沒有一個能得救；但是為了蒙揀選的人的緣故，那些日子是必會被截短的。

按接受福音來說呢，為了你們的益處、他們算為仇敵；但按揀選來說呢，他們卻因了列祖的緣故是蒙愛者。因為上帝的恩賜與呼召是沒有後悔的。你們從前不順服上帝，如今因他們的不順服、你們倒蒙了憐恤；照樣，如今連他們也硬不順服了，這是要使他們、因着所施給你們的那同樣的憐恤、如今也蒙憐恤。因為上帝將萬人都圈住在不順服之中，好憐恤萬人。

永恆主發神諭說；將來此地全部的人其中兩分必被剪除而死去，只有三分之一得以存留。我必使這三分之一經過火，我必熬煉他們，像人熬煉銀子；試煉他們，像試煉金子。他們就必呼求我的名，我就應他們。我要說：「他們是我的子民」；他們個個都要說：「永恆主是我的上帝。」

就使境內的人還有十分之一，他們也必再被消滅。但是像篤耨香樹或橡樹，雖被砍下，仍有樹𣎴子在那裏：』這樹𣎴子、乃是聖的苗裔。

他們呢、若不恆居於「不信」之內，仍然會被接上；因為上帝能把他們接上。你從天生的野橄欖樹上被砍下來，尚且逆着性接在好橄欖樹上，何況這些天生的枝子、豈不更要接在原本的橄欖樹上麼？

照樣看來，就是在現今這時期、也仍然有按恩典的揀選所留下的餘數呢。既是按着恩典，就不是由於行為了；不然，恩典就不再是恩典了。那麼便怎麼樣呢？以色列所切求的、他們竟然沒有得着；惟獨蒙揀選的人得着了。其餘的人就成了頑梗不化的；

若不是萬軍之永恆主給我們留下一些殘存人，我們就早已像所多瑪，早已跟蛾摩拉一樣了。
